Ken - Wouldn't you know that right after I posted that, it didn't work. In that case I copied the image that was causing the problem, then pasted it right back in place, clicked on send, and away it went.

I think that worked once for me also; I get confused w/ all the trying-out. It's odd that there's not some attention paid to this (long!!) thread by cognizant people.
I only tried your fix once; let's keep the fingers crossed.

Come on folks - do something!!!
This problem has been around for years, usually caused by a signature image, but sometimes caused by inline image.
Amazing that this has not yet been fixed. Almost tempts one to move to Outlook.

Not sure which "folks" you think you're talking to but....This forum is not run by or formally associated with Mozilla. We're an independent user-helping-user community.

Re: Thunderbird hangs on send saying "attaching"
My latest success (should have thought of it before) is merely to take a screenshot of the in-line image, using Screenshot Captor (under Win 8.1). Then paste that image in. So far...OK.

Isn't that like saying, "If we remove the car brakes, they won't squeal"?utomo wrote:if we remove that images it will send without problems

Developers don't exist for thunderbird because Mozilla is now focusing exclusively into adding DRMs and other industry-friendly features in FireFox and FireFox OS.utomo wrote:so the developer can take a look at it and try to solve it
Thunderbird is a dead project, but Mozilla refuses to say it is. This is what pisses me off! Just declare TB dead so that all the companies and users will switch to a better client!!

Re: Thunderbird hangs on send saying "attaching"
I've been searching all day for an answer to this and also posted elsewhere.
I have the exact same problem with thunderbird on my PC but it’s totally fine on my laptop with the same version (38.4.0) and the same set up, although a setting or two could be different, both on windows 7, my laptop is basically an identical clone of my PC.
If it’s working fine on my laptop but not on my PC I’m thinking it can be fixed somehow, It’s a pain keep swapping computers to reply to emails with attachments but at least it works, any ideas guys?

Transfer the profile from the laptop to the PC. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_ ... hunderbird
