Thunderbird not responding

Post by holagundas »

I have the same problem and will hang intermittently and for at least 5 minutes, then works for a click or two, then hangs again. I have all IMAP accounts from Yahoo, Gmail and Hotmail.

Here are some details as the one above does not make sense.

1. I have added about 10email IMAP accounts to TB (hotmail, yahoo and gmail)
2. Off late my TBird hangs when I launch it. It shows a green bar at the bottom continuously as if it is downloading messages, though I am sure there are no new messages.
3. It responds intermittently for my clicks and then hangs again.
4. I see in the error console a lot of security errors - do not know what they mean.

Here are some:
1. ERROR OnDownloadError: Inbox of xyz@htomail.com -
Timestamp: 6/2/2014 7:49:56 PM
Error: 2014-06-02 19:49:56 gloda.index_msg ERROR Exception while attempting to mark message with gloda state afterdb commit [Exception... This error repeats like every few seconds:

Clear the browser cache and the Windows Temp directory.
Shutdown any anti-virus software you are running.
Download a new copy of the full installer from http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/thunderbird/
Delete the directory C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird
Run the installer.
Restart the anti-virus program.

Note that your saved messages, settings, passwords, etc (if any) are stored in a different directory from the program files and will not be removed by deleting the directory identified above.

This thread viewtopic.php?f=39&t=996475&p=5239885#p5239885 has a more detailed version of the above instructions if needed.
