Update/delete column width configuration settings

Hey,

As a user I want to be able to reset the width of columns to default

In addition it would be useful to be able to set widths either via the UI or programmatically

I've deleted anything "column" based from prefs.js ( viewtopic.php?f=39&t=2947859 ), but this doesn't appear to reset my column widths

Can anyone help?

You can set the column widths by dragging the divider line between columns until the width it to your liking.
You can reset the widths to default by clicking on the small "box" at the far right end of the column header line and selecting "Reset columns to default."

Actually, one can't reset column widths by selecting the "Reset columns to default" option from the select icon, but it would be useful http://quick.as/L49VILdXR - is this a bug?

Try renaming the file localstore.rdf to localstorerdf.old. (Do that with Thuderbird closed.)

If the method of deleting localstore.rdf no longer works, it's because it has been replaced by xulstore.json:

Appears to be a solution to reset column *widths* although doesn't appear to reset column types

I guess column types can be reset via the UI though (i.e. "Reset columns to default")
