Which TB version DOES leave an icon in the xp tray next to the clock? Version 38 does not nor is there a choice in the installation dialog boxes. It DOES leave one on the desktop but NOT in the tray. Other apps do. I will use any recent version that does.

Hi,
It all depends on whether or not you have set Thunderbird to start with Windows/the PC.
Seeing as you're using XP, (correct?) you can place the icon into the Quick Launch Bar.

I think you are referring to minimizing to tray, which requires an extension.
