Greetings,

When I want to update to version x.x.4, I'm getting the following error:

"The update could not be installed. Please make sure there are no other copies of Thunderbird running on your computer, and then restart Thunderbird to try again."

The fun part is. It's happening even when I download the newest version of clean ThunderBird portable, or I do normal clean install.

Please advise. I already tried deleting the AppData folders, and did clean installs and nothing,

You deleted the profile folder but when you refer to a "normal clean install" do you mean that you deleted the program directory?
Did you reboot after those deletions?

Clear the browser cache and the Windows Temp directory.
Shutdown any anti-virus software you are running.
Download a new copy of the full installer from http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/thunderbird/
Delete the directory C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird
Run the installer.
Restart the anti-virus program.

So I solved it like this. I ran it on diff. computer, and it updated it self, and now it runs just fine
