Messages disappear

Post by romrayster »

Hi,

some of my thunderbird messages disappear. The weird thing is, that they show up in the global search but don't open if I click on them.
I worked thorugh this thread already: http://kb.mozillazine.org/New_messages_do_not_appear Stuff like repair folders don't work.
  • The messages are as well not shown in the folders.
  • The folders I am talking about are local folders.
  • The error is not consistent e.g. it happens only to some messages
  • Disabling all Plugins didn't help
  • My OS is Ubuntu 14.04 and I am usingThunderbird 38.8.0

Any help is appreciated.

Moving to Thunderbird Support.

What you're describing can be caused by a corrupt or out of synch index file for the global search function. The messages appearing in the search results are most likely no longer present in the profile.

Close Thunderbird and navigate to the profile folder. Locate and delete the file global-messages-db.sqlite then restart Thunderbird and allow time for the index to be rebuilt.
