PDF Attachments do not open when double clicked

Post by whitehairedgeezer3 »

Only started in the last 2 weeks (I think). Thunderbird 45.1.1; Windows 10; Adobe Acrobat Reader DC;

When you double click Adobe starts up in the background (you can find it in task manager) but doesnt read the document.. If I choose a different reader in options, then it loads OK and reads the document so it may be a fault in Adobe DC. The Acrobat Reader Plugin was disabled but enabling it makes no difference. If you tell it what to use in Tools/options/attachments you dont get a right click menu but setting the option to always ask and then when it does, choosing Acrobat DC makes no difference. Save the file and doubleclick on it in File Explorer and it always loads perfectly so there is nothing wrong with the file(s). Word document attachments load perfectly - dont get any others so havent tried them.

When you double click Adobe starts up in the background (you can find it in task manager) but doesn't read the document.
What if you open it (embedded) in the browser (using the Adobe Reader Plugin), does that work?
(Another thread where "DC" wasn't opening links, Adobe Reader DC issues (but the "fix" there was to revert from DC to Adobe Reader XI [11]).
Fire 750, bring back 250.
