Unable to send

User Help for Mozilla Thunderbird

Suddenly I am unable to send emails. Emails are received ok but not sent.
I get a message saying that the login to send server failed.
My password is correct and I am able to log in and access my emails through the xtra website.
Xtra 'support' could find no problem at their end.
I have tried deleting and re-entering my password.
I have the latest Thunderbird (45.6)
Windows 8.1
Eset smart security AV. (disabling email scanning makes no difference to problem)
Anyone got any suggestions?

First suggestion: give us the full and complete text of the error message you receive when attempting to send.

Xtra has just put up a recorded message that some customers may be experiencing problems sending. They're working on it - so looks like it's a problem at their end.
