windows 10, sending attachments chooses Outlook over TB prob

I have a new computer with win10, I believe anniversary edition - a very much love hate relationship coming from a long time win 7 user. Anyhow under default apps, I set Thunderbird as my default email client but whenever I right click on a file and then do the "send to" "mail client" button it always opens Outlook which I have never even set up. How do I get it to send and open Thunderbird instead?

Yeah, Windows 10 seems designed to refuse changes in defaults away from Microsoft's own applications.

Try setting Outlook or some other email client as the default, rebooting the system. Then set Thunderbird as the default and again reboot the system.
