For one of my gmx e-mail accounts I am asked every few months for my password... again and again. I have several gmx accounts, but this one is the only one that does this.
A pop up appears telling me:
"Enter your password for xxxxx @gmx.com on imap.gmx.com"
And when I do, it does not accept it, another pop up appears telling me: "Login to server imap.gmx.com failed."
Asking me to "Enter New Password"
What is this and what can I do about it?
Why am I asked for a password again and again...

Re: Why am I asked for a password again and again...
Try deleting the saved password using tools -> options -> security -> passwords -> saved passwords, exiting and restarting Thunderbird (since the deleted password is still in memory) and try again (telling it to save the password when prompted for it). There is a bug where if you get a hard connection failure it will never login if you have a saved password (even if you enter the right password when prompted) that this works around.
One possibility is that your tcp-ip settings are too heavily tweaked to increase your speed. You need to balance performance and dealing with poor connections.
