[Solved]Tbird 45.8.0 freezes /fails to get email from 1 acct

I'm running Thunderbird v45.8.0 under 64-bit Windows 7 Pro. I have six mailboxes/inboxes. It seems like it can get all the POP3 email for the other 5 lesser-used accounts/inboxes, but on two different Win 7 Pro boxes, it fails to get the last 10 days of the main account's POP3 email! It either just flails and takes ~99 % of infinity, or it hangs/freezes and then crashes.

This report also contains technical information about the state of the application when it crashed.

I've disabled the anti-virus as well as the firewall, but it makes no difference. I've also used Avira Anti-Virus Pro and MBAM to scan my computer and the Thunderbird folder in particular, with no malware found. Note that when I try to launch it with addons disabled, it crashes also.

Log onto that account using a browser and delete the oldest message not yet downloaded to Thunderbird.
