Hi, I have to most recent version of Thunderbird. I am using a desktop with Windows 7 Home.
After my computer crashed, I can no longer select email in the preview pane. I click on an email and it et outlines in blue, but I can't select it, so the generic "Welcone to Thunderbird" message appears in the pane below it. See:

I have tried closing then re-opening Thunderbird, with no luck. I tried right-clicking the inobx folder, and selecting "properties" to attempt repair, but nothing happens. I cannot even tell you the version number, since after I clock "Help", nothing happens.
Ant ideas? Thanks!

Re: Cannot select emails in preview pane on Thunderbird
Just an update:
The problem occurs every time there is a Thunderbird update (it just happened to me again a few minutes ago). It says you have to restart Thunderbird. But you also have to restart your computer. This is a glitch made by Mozilla and they are not aware of it yet.

Menu path Tools->Options->General->Thunderbird start page->make sure that you have unchecked "When Thunderbird launches..."
