Deleting Account

My wife has two Laptops:
(1) Old
(2) New

The old laptop had a Hotmail account:
Server Type - IMAP mail server
Server Name - IMAP- mail.outlook.com
username@hotmail.co.uk.

I installed Thunderbird on the new laptop and put the same account into Thunderbird - all working OK.
The new laptop has the same account details as above.

Question:
If I delete the account on the old laptop, does it have any effect on the new laptop account?

No, it will not. But delete the account on the old laptop, do not use that system to delete any messages before removing the account. With an IMAP account, the messages displayed in Thunderbird are what is stored on the server. Deleting messages from account folders in Thunderbird also deletes them from the server.
