Thunderbird lost folders
for some reason I have lost a lot of my folders. I am running version 4.8.0 in IMAP on Win10. I have tried finding how to reindex my files, but can not find the way to do it. I hope that will solve my problem!

Re: Thunderbird lost folders
I split your post from its original location because that thread died over two years ago and because the issue you're reporting here has nothing to do with the issue in that topic.
Are you actually using version 4.8.0 of Thunderbird or was that a typo?
If you can't see some folders in the left hand pane of the Thunderbird window, try subscribing to them -- http://www.pcworld.com/article/250202/t ... tions.html

What does 'subscribing to them" mean?

I guess I must be dumb, but I do not understand what you wrote! First of all, I can not find the article you referenced above. Second, what do I need safe mode for, and how will that help me get back my folders.
Finally, it seems to me that after I delete a few emails, my Thunderbird hangs up for a while. I can go to other programs, but TB gets a blank space near the top, and will not allow me to do anything for a period, then goes back active again.
