Re: emails
What is it you want to accomplish? Do you want to delete all of those message, move them to the new computer, or what?

Re: emails
If it were me, I'd move the 1% I wanted to keep to their own folder in Local Folders, then just delete everything left in their original folder(s).

Re: emails
How is the account set up in Thunderbird, as POP or IMAP? Find out using menu path Tools->Account Settings->Server Settings->Server Type at the top right of the dialogue.

Some other ways as well, but from within the TBird user interface:Rainne wrote:I know but is there a way to get rid of them all at once
Once you have the messages you want to keep moved elsewhere:
Click top message in list to highlight it.
Move to bottom of list
Hold shift and click bottom message to highlight the whole range (or whatever the appropriate key combination is on Apple if different than shift-click).
Delete the highlighted range.
Pretty standard computer tactics.
