How Do I Get Multiple Accounts in the Same Order

Post by koolx »

I got 2 email accounts. On my 'X' account I got local folders: inbox, drafts, archives, and trash. This is followed by Gmail (server) folders below: sent, spam and trash. But on my 'S' account I just got one local folder: inbox. This is followed below with Gmail (server) folders: drafts, sent mail, spam and trash. Please see screen shot to follow. They both don't have the same order.

How do I get my 'S' folder to have the same exact order as my 'X' account?

Here are 2 screen shots. They both show my X and S accounts in gmail settings. My X account (circled in red) shows my IMAP drafts, IMAP trash and archives. But I dont have these on my S account. My IMAP Gmail settings in both accounts are the same. Again, how do I get S account to look exactly like my X account?

See https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunde ... t-folders/ to change the folder order in Thunderbird once you enable the same labels in the google settings.

I suggest you add [Gmail] as the IMAP server directory in tools -> account settings -> gmail -> server settings -> advanced to clean up the Gmail folder tree first.

I never had to install an app to reorder my folders. This is not going to solve my issue.

That is an add-on, not an app. Why don't you believe it will solve your issue? It appears that all you need to do is get the google settings in webmail identical, create any missing folders, and then use the add-on to move the folders positions as needed.

add-on = app... same thing.

As I said in my prior post, this app won't help because I NEVER had to use an add-on or app to reorder my folders in my other accounts.

No, it will help, you just refuse to use it. Suit yourself.

According to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PVhq8Zfg6g you can change the order of the folders using the mouse in gmail webmail by dragging and dropping. That is unusual, I don't know of any other webmail (including outlook.com) that supports that. See if Thunderbird inherits that folder order.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1FhChWmCYc might also be useful.

I'm refusing to use an app that I never used on my other accounts to arrange in order. You just don't understand the question. But whatever.

I'll check out the youtube link.
