With 4 different TB email accts problem with address book

Hi! During a transfer of emails from SeaMonkey to Thunderbird (which overall so far is unsuccessful,) I was able to transfer the address book from one SM profile to TB no 1. (as a trial and if successful I will do for the others). However the remaining 3 email accounts have the same address book as no 1. Erasing any address book from 1 does it to all. Does this mean the TB program I have is corrupt (and I need to re-start TB from scratch?)or is there something else that is causing this. Thanks for any solution
