I have font set in composition preferences to Arial, and it starts there, but any time I click into an area lower down in the body, or even somehow when I don't, the font wants to slip back to variable width as default. This leads to emails with 2 fonts, which I need to clean up while composing or before sending. How do I completely get rid of the systems preference that keeps overriding my settings?
This has gone on for years, has anyone ever seen this before?
I'm in 52.1.1 (64) on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
Thanks

I see it change and have Variable Width as default.
Don't know how you fix it.

Re: Font won't stay put in compose view
I don't think there's currently a fix in the program. The fix is user procedure. Compose the message first, then select all of the text in the message and set the font and size desired. It's a PITA but avoids sending things out with unintended font changes.
