Recreating Junk-1.msf

Post by jtruchon »

Hello;

Using TB 52.2.1 on Windows and one of my IMAP accounts keeps recreating Junk-1.msf. I have deleted this file, the Junk.msf, and even the entire IMAP fold, but the -1 file is still recreated every time I restart TB. I've checked the IMAP account, and there isn't an Junk-1 folder, so I don't know why the Junk-1.msf is always recreated.

Thanks

Normally you need to delete both the mbox file ("Junk-1.") and the message summary file ("Junk-1.msf"). If you delete only one of them TB will create a empty copy of the other file since part of it thinks there is a folder. This can occur even when there is no mail folder with that name on the IMAP server.

Typically a file with a numeric suffix is created if there is already a version of the file without the numeric suffix and some sort of hiccup occurs. Try specifying a junk folder with a different name such as spam in TB's junk settings, and then delete the junk folder and the "junk." , "junk.msf" , "junk-1." and "junk-1.msf" files.
