Assume I go in Firefox (on Win 7) to the Thunderbird Themes web page like:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunde ... ass-black/
Now I click on the button "Add to Thunderbird".
Then is applied to Firefox and NOT to Thunderbird.
Furthermore there is no download-Link
So how do I download and apply this (or other themes) to Thunderbird?
I found no search or download entry in Thunderbirds "AddOns" section

To install a Thunderbird extension do the following:
Right click the download link on the extension's home page and choose "Save Link As...". Then, in Thunderbird, go to Tools->Addons->Extensions tab->click on the "Gear" icon and select "Install Add-on from File" from the drop down list. Navigate to the just downloaded .xpi file and select it. Click on the "Open" button. The installation will now begin. You will need to close and reopen Thunderbird to complete the install.

Thank you...but it didn't work.
Go for example to the web apge I mentioned in my initial post.
When I right-click on the button "Add to Thunderbird" and select "Save Link as...." then I can ONLY save it as a *.htm file but NOT as *.xpi file.
How do I download the corresponding *.xpi Theme file otherwise?

That "Glass" is not a full theme but only a light or compact theme. Click on that "Add to Firefox" button immediately installs the "theme" which only changes the appearance of the header and toolbars.

Thats exactly what I want to do - BUT for Thunderbird.
So again: How do I apply such "light/compact" themes to Thunderbird?

Sorry, I "misspoke". I meant to say "Clicking on that "Add to Thunderbird" button immediately installs the "theme" which only changes the appearance of the header and toolbars."

Firefox does not know you want to install an Extension or full complete Theme or in this case a background image Theme into the separate Thunderbird instead.
