I tried to send email this morning and couldn't. The error message I'm receiving is "smtp.comcast.net timed out. Try again," After being hung up twice I finally got an a agent who after "checking" my settings told me I needed to update my version of Thunderbird. The version I"m using is 52.2.2.1 Tb usually updates automatically. Am I behind?
Thanks a lot.
Mike

Re: Can't Attach to STP Server
No, you're not behind because 52.2.1 is the current release version. The agent is just incorrect.
The settings that should work for the SMTP Server for that Comcast account are as follows:
Server Name: smtp.comcast.net
Port : 587
User Name: Your full Comcast email address
Authentication method: Normal Password
Connection Security: STARTTLS
What security software are you running on that system and did it recently update?

You're welcome but you didn't say if the problem is now resolved. Was it a settings issue?
