After Windows clean install--TB profile problem.

I had to effect a clean Windwos 10 installation recently and saved the profile to repalce that the would be generated, when I reinstalled Thunderbird.

Now in Mozilla Thunderbird> Defaults are the folders: a4av99wy.default, messenger, and pref.

Profiles in C:\Windows.old\Users\***\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird reads:

Path=Profiles/a4av99wy.default
Default=1

Also there is another copy of a4av99wy.default in C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Thunderbird\Profiles

As I am getting Your

Thunderbird profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible.

either I have used a wrong method to retain Thunderbird for easy renstallation, or something is wonky with my current set up.

Please advise me, so if possible, I can avoid needing to set all up again manually.

The windows.old copy of profiles.ini is not going to be used. Its not clear what the real one has. I suggest you delete the profiles.ini file at %APPDATA%\Thunderbird and then tell Thunderbird where the profile you want to use is per
