i´ve a stupid question.
my friend has lost gmail account pasword ( using thunderbird ) due to dead laptop. gmail password recovery isn´t working.
is there any chance to recover it with a fresh installation of thunderbird on a new laptop, then overwrite files with the old thunderbird files from recovered hdd of the dead laptop?

That might work. If the Thunderbird profile folder on the old laptop can be accessed, the files can be transferred to another installation of Thunderbird on a working system.
