I have version 1.2.13 of Lookout installed in Thunderbird 52.4.0.

I see there is a newer version of this extension, with the addition of "(fixed)" in the name.

1) Is anybody else using either of these?
2) This is by a foreign programmer (Ukraine). Is it safe?
3) If 2 is OK, does this replace my existing version, or should I uninstall that first?
4) In 3, why don't they just keep the same name?

Please check the date of previous posts before replying to a thread. The one this was originally posted in (before I split it off) died nine years ago.

The name was changed because another developer took over the extension. Version 1.2.13 has not been updated since 2011 while the newer Fix Version 1.2.19 was last updated in March of this year. As to safety, the newer version is hosted on AMO so it's about as safe as anything else hosted on that site.

Got an error message:
"domain\username ran C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Thunderbird\thunderbird.exe, which attempted to access C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\5s4r507d.default\extensions\staged\lookout@s3_fix_version.xpi\lookout.js. The potentially unwanted program named Suspicious Attachment!script was detected and deleted."

This was from McAfee. Any ideas? I don't want to whitelist it, because I am trying to find out if this is a real issue or not.

Thank you.
