"if i can sync thunderbird lightning with outlook .com web email?"

Syncing email just requires a IMAP account. Outlook.com supports that. Syncing remote calendars is a different story. In many cases you just need a add-on such as Cardbook to add CalDAV support. However, it seems its not that simple for outlook.com.

https://thunderbirdtweaks.blogspot.com/ ... rbird.html describes how to do it, but requires a (free) EWS exchange add-on. Also see https://github.com/Ericsson/exchangecal ... hunderbird .

I just stumbled across TBSync - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunde ... pandcoming which says:. "Synchronize Exchange ActiveSync accounts to Thunderbird Addressbook and Calendar, also supports outlook.com accounts." One of the comments says "The downside (and the reason I am only giving three stars) is that it cannot yet sync recurring dates"

I use ReminderFox, not Lightning, and don't bother with a remote calendar.
