it goes to a location in Thunderbird; how do I changer it to Firefox URLs?
Win 10 Pro on my originally Dell Optiplex System 7 desktop, but now 32-bit latest Windows 10. Usually latest or latest-1 Thunderbird on all machines. Would like soon to buy a new laptop if my finances permit.

Where are you entering the URL in Thunderbird?
Does the same thing occur if you launch the application in Mozilla Safe Mode? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode

It sounds as though you may have the extension Thunderbrowse installed. Disable or remove that extension.

I use uBlock Origin v 1.13.8 with Thunderbird 52.4 and it hasn't caused any problems that I'm aware of. The version at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefo ... ck-origin/ supports Firefox, Thunderbird and Seamonkey . You can tell by the fx, tb and sm in the file name. I prefer it over AdBlockPlus as ABP uses too much memory.

However, it appears 1.13.8 was the last version available for Thunderbird as Thunderbird doesn't support the WebExtensions API. https://github.com/chrisaljoudi/uBlock/issues/552
