Hi!

I'm using Thunderbird 52.4.0 (64 bit) on a 2017 iMac (macOS 10.12.6 )and I'm in serious troubles: when I try to create a new message, the new windows I get is a normal "new Message" window but it has no modifiable fields...

I cannot do anything: edit any of the fields, write in any of the boxes... I solved by uninstalling current version and installing an older one, but from time to time the issues occurs again...

Can somebody please help me?

Thanks a lot!!

Does this still happen if you start Thunderbird in safe mode?

Hi!

Thanks for the fast reply! I should try... In the meantime, by hitting 4-5 times repeatedly "cmd+n" (to create a new message), Thunderbird started working again... Mystery... :?

Have exactly the same problem with the same OS and software version.
With safe mode it works but no way to make it work in standard mode.
Tried to deactivate-remove all the add ons but nothing.
Cannot even send new message with your system (hitting 4-5 times cmd+n.
Does anybody elsa have the same problem?

If you aren't using the default theme, make sure you switch to it and restart Thunderbird. Sometimes a theme can mess with operations if it hasn't been updated in a while.

I'm using the default theme, I didn't even downloaded any additional theme.
It worked perfectly and then all of a sudden it started doing that. I really don't know what to think. ](*,)
