I have Thunderbird 52.4.0 running under Win 10 (64 bit) with Fall Creators Update.
Following on from my recent questions, is it possible to run Thunderbird to start minimised? I cannot see how to do this.
I have created a Thunderbird shortcut on my Desktop and, in Properties, set it to Run Minimised. It still opens full screen. I have also tried putting -minimised after the Thunderbird path in Target and, again, it fails to run minimised.

https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/doc ... ne_Options mentions a -tray command line option but its not clear whether Thunderbird supports that. Try it.
You could also try the MinimizeToTray revived add-on at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunde ... y-revived/

Re: Starting Thunderbird minimised
Thnks for the reply. Unfortunately, neither of these seem to work.
I tried Run with thunderbird -maximise, thunderbird -maximize & thunderbird -tray. All three opened Thunderbird maximised.
Minimize to Tray Revised says that it only works up to Thunderbird Ver 50.

Re: Starting Thunderbird minimised
What version an add-on says it supports is frequently outdated, since there is little incentive for an author to bump the max version number stored in the add-ons manifest and resubmit very time there is a new major version. In fact, many of the add-ons that only support up to version 3.1 will work if you install an add-on to disable version checking.
The add-on web page has a comment posted yesterday praising it, so I suspect it works with the current version. There were a couple of comments about it no longer working with Linux but I assume you're using Windows.

Having taken on board your comments, I've tried an Add-On, FireTray, https://addons.mozilla.org/en-gb/thunde ... /firetray/ that seems very similar to MinimizeToTray Revisted, including the need to increase the version. It seems to be doing the trick.
