I've tried many times to install AdBlock for Thunderbird, but each and every time, I get an error saying that it can't be installed because it maybe corrupt. Anyone have the direct link that I can use to install AdBlock? 8-)

I got the following version installed in Thunderbird 52.5.0.

Adblock Plus 2.9.1
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/versions/

Direct Download:

Code: Select all
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downloads/file/660890/adblock_plus-2.9.1-an+fx+sm+tb.xpi

The link for the Thunderbird version (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunde ... pendencies) gets redirected to the Firefox version, whose filename doesn't mention TB. There is a convention of an add-on supports multiple applications to mention FX, TB, SM etc. in the filename to tell you which are supported.

The same thing occurs with uBlock Origin . I have a slightly out of date version installed and there used to be a Thunderbird specific web page for it where the latest version was unusable, but the prior version was okay. However, they forgot to delete https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunde ... /versions/ which has download links for older versions. I'm using version 1.13.8

Using the same trick I found https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunde ... /versions/ for AdBlockPlus . I suspect version 2.9.1 is the last one that will work. If you use a more recent version it should detect that its Firefox only, but perhaps it doesn't and just thinks its corrupt.

I looked again after reading morat's post. I had missed the Version history section on the Firefox add-on web page, because its not at the bottom like I'm used to seeing it.
