TB / Gmail problem

I keep getting the following:
"Log in to failed....enter new password"

I enter a new password but keep getting this message!!!! GMail through TB is not functional for some reason!

If you log in to that Gmail account through a browser do you run into a captcha page?
You can't use a new password for that account in Thunderbird unless you also change the password on the Gmail webmail page. Have you done that?
Go to TOOLS > OPTIONS >SECURITY > PASSWORDS tab> SAVED PASSWORDS button and there you can delete old passwords. Restart Thunderbird to ensure that the stored password is cleared from memory. The next time you "Get Mail" Thunderbird will ask for the password and you can check the box to remember the value.
