In the past I used browser based WebMail to send messages over an existing GMail account.
It works fine for a long time.
Now I added this account to Thunderbird email client.
When I try now to send an eMail through SMTP(S) a popup appears asking me for Google Mail password in a dialog similar to browser based login.
After I entering it Google want to force me to verify that I am the correct user.
Therefore I should enter my mobile phone number.
I don't want this.
If I click "more options" then my SMTP messages is rejected.
How else can I tell GMail to accept SMTP messages from my Thunderbird?
Can I enable it somewhere in Google Account directly?
Can I use somehow my second reference email for this Google Account?

You don't need to give it your phone #, though it may ask for it. Google likes to imply its required, but in every case when I've added a Gmail account (or had to log into google using a browser to deal with a security issue) there was always some button to ignore that request.
I assume you're added a Gmail IMAP account with authentication set to OAuth2. When you try to send a message using that account it will display a similar password prompt, due to the SMTP server also using OAuth2. Worst case you can re-configure Thunderbird to use a normal password for authentication if you log into https://www.google.com/settings/security/lesssecureapps beforehand using a browser and select "Allow to let less secure apps access your Google account".
