Sending of password for user xxxxxxxxxx@optusnet.com.au did not succeed. Mail server mail.optusnet.com.au responded: Authentication failed. how do I fix this ? maaike

Did you follow the instructions here ( http://www.optus.com.au/shop/support/an ... 4&typeId=5 ) in setting up that account in Thunderbird?

What is the current setting under menu path Tools->Account Settings->Server Settings for "Authentication Mentod"?

Be sure you try accessing that site with Firefox in Mozilla Safe Mode as it requires JavaScript to display. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode
