Assume I got an email with one or more attachments.
When I click the button "save" right of the attachment line at the bottom then always a folder selection dialog appears
asking me to define/confirm the storage directory.
How can I avoid this directory selection prompt and always automatically save the attachment to the pre-defined "download" directory?
Peter
Disable prompt for dir when clicking on "save attachment"?

Re: Disable prompt for dir when clicking on "save attachment
Try menu path Tools->Options->Attachments->Incoming->uncheck "Always ask me where to save files" and also select the directory to "Save files to".

This does NOT work.
I did everytrhing as you suggested but I am still prompted for the target directory.
I am using Portable Thunderbird. But I cannot imagine that this is the reason.
So is there another trick (e.g. in Config editor)?

Re: Disable prompt for dir when clicking on "save attachment
I can save the attachment without the prompt if I double click the attachment at the bottom left of the message.
AFAIK, it isn't possible to avoid the prompt using the save button at the bottom right of the message.
