I installed dom inspector and dom inspector plus. But I dont know if it works in my TB v52.5.2. I click shift on my keyboard and then right click on my mouse on an element i want to modify. But thus far it doesnt do anything. Am I doing something wrong or does the addon not work in my current version?

Dom Inspector 2.0.16.1 https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunde ... ctor-6622/ and InspectorWidget https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunde ... torwidget/ still work fine here in Thunderbird 52.5.2.

You can pick 2.17.1 too:

2.17.2 is currently unreleased and works till 58 but only in TB and SeaMonkey. It will never again work in Firefox 58+ because of api removals. Was broken again by our Mozilla "friends" late in 59. ETA for a fixed version unknown.

I didn't see an update for DOMi+ but it will probably work including 57.

The existing DOMi that is floating around is OK for T/Bird 52.

For T/Bird 58 and Fx57 (I seem to recall that's OK for Fx 58 as well) then use this - viewtopic.php?p=14782859#p14782859

Either way, in T/Bird 58 be sure to copy the paths to most of the major UI affecting .css files and any other useful paths while you have a DOMi, as if/when the DOMi breaks on T/Bird 60+ or something you can just pick up the drift (and the class/ids) from the files themselves.

For those who don't know this trick in T/Bird - just set the required .css file path as the T/Bird start page/home page, or whatever they call it, and read the file on restart.

I got DOM Inspector Plus 2.0.17.1.2rc working in Firefox 58 release build.

I had to use Dumby's hack to get it working correctly.

I would like to try DOM Inspector 2.0.17.2 when released.

@Eckard

I'm using the autoconfig.js and mozilla.cfg files to run the hack.

Thank you so much for your efforts and your patience, morat.
Your last hint for the mozilla.cfg file finally made it ;)
