Thunderbird not connecting with Outlook

I have used Thunderbird on a Toshiba Qosmio running Windows 8.1 and have just bought a new HP24 All in One running Windows 10. After installing Thunderbird I then used Mozbackup to backup my profile from my Toshiba and restored my profile on my HP. I have three emails a sky, gmail and outlook, Sky and gmail worked but my Outlook keeps coming up as failed to connect. Anyone else have this problem

How is the account set up in Thunderbird, as POP or IMAP? Find out using menu path Tools->Account Settings->Server Settings->Server Type at the top right of the dialogue.
Without posting your full email address, what settings do you have under menu path Tools->Account Settings Server Settings:
Server name:
Port # :
User name : (Is it your full name or just the bit before the @ symbol)
Connection Security:
Authentication Method:

As it was in windows 8.1 pop I have tried setting it uo as imap but that does not work as it tells me it does not accept my password which has not changed as it is the one to signin to microsoft windows account

Do you have pop3.live.com as the server name for that Outlook account?

Sorry I have not got back to you have found out the problem it was to do with my AVG software Thunderbird is now working perfectly as it should Many thanks for your help
