sorting account names

Post by petergo »

hi there

I am running the latest version of TB and win 10 pro

I have three folders corresponding to accounts I guess in Account Settings
In normal view, I see just Local Folders and the Gmail folder

Local Folders, and a gazillion sub folders including the Inbox, trash, junk etc

Gmail Folder for example, peter@gmail.com and all the default and a gazillion folders

Peter at his ISP folder, again with the default and many other personal folders

I have looked at "account actions" but nothing there

May I kindly ask how can I change the order that these folders appear in the normal view please?

kindest thanks, cheers

FF won't allow me to install this add on
Do you mean Thunderbird won't allow you to install it? Or did you forget to download the .xpi file before installing it in Thunderbird?
To install a Thunderbird extension do the following:
Right click the download link on the extension's home page and choose "Save Link As...". Then, in Thunderbird, go to Tools->Addons->Extensions tab->click on the "Gear" icon and select "Install Add-on from File" from the drop down list. Navigate to the just downloaded .xpi file and select it. Click on the "Open" button. The installation will now begin. You will need to close and reopen Thunderbird to complete the install.

You shouldn't be getting ANY message from FFox. You are apparently trying to install a Thunderbird extension into Firefox.

In FFox: Right-click the download link for the extension and select "Save link as ..". Save the .xpi file to somewhere you can easily get at.

Then in TBird: Go to Tools | Add-Ons | Extensions, and either:
  • Drag the .xpi file from its downloaded location and drop it on the TBird Extensions window, or
  • Click on the "gear" icon near the top of the TBird Extensions page, select "Install Add-on from file ..", and navigate to the downloaded .xpi file.

This won't let you off the hook. Some of the most prolific and helpful folks on here are well into Social Security age. I turned 70 a few months ago.

Hello Peter,
Yes. I am still awake at this ungodly hour.

What do you mean by..."Now if I could just get the app to work."

Which app?

The extension that you just installed in Thunderbird?

Elaborate please.

g'day Mr L.

yes the extension, sorry m8

stop complaining and feel sorry for me, I had to stay up until 1am to watch the footy from back home, until 4am, and to add insult to injury the mighty mighty Cats, lost

the problem I am having with the extension is that I have two main folders, namely Local Folders and the Gmail folder
At this time the Gmail is is first, and the Local Folders is seconbd

thnx amigo, cheers
