filter "name1 C.", name2 C." ...

Post by pfapfa »

I get a lot of spam.
The majority are sent FROM "Margit D.", "Allan H.", "Harry L." and likes.
I want to make a filter like " C." to select FROMs, which means "space Character dot"
How can I do that?

regards Per A.

Try using Contains" rather than "Is" so the filter would read "Sender" + "Contains" + " C."

I don't think OP is looking to filter for a literal C but to filter for ANY single letter preceded by a space and followed by a period.

I guess OP could set up a filter like:

Match ANY post
[From] [Contains] [ A.] +
[From] [Contains] [ B.] +
[From] [Contains] [ C.] +
etc.

Kind of a pain to set up, but it only has to be done once.

I don't know if there's a limit on how many conditions one can test for in a given filter. If you can't test for all 26 letters, you could split it into two 13 letter filters.
