It says that's what I'm on in the about --- update area.

The release channel will provide the current stable release versions, including all security updates, and it is the normal update process for most Thunderbird users.
An alternative channel is the Nightly, which is for those willing to use not-yet-released beta versions to provide input on bugs and regressions to the developers.
