Hello
I've tried the following method but none of them work.
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Moving_your_p ... hunderbird
- Use the Profile Manager to move your profile
- Create a new profile and copy the old one over it
- Modify profiles.ini to point to the new location
Thanks in advance
Is the method of moving your profile folder still working ?

That works for most folks.
A bit more detail about this move, please. One PC to another, or one drive to another, or something else?

Did you try the "Nothing you do works" section? If something messes up the profiles.ini file (for example you making a trivial mistake when editing it) you need to delete that file.
I wrote that KB article so any feedback you can give me on what you tried and/or what seemed useless or too hard to understand would be very useful. I added a "Check that the profile you want to move works" section after reading this thread.

I would like to change Profiles 's location to D: drive HDD (Storage Spaces two-way mirrors) .DanRaisch wrote:That works for most folks.

Just in case my C: drive SSD is dead.

I didn't try "Nothing you do works" sectiontanstaafl wrote:Did you try the "Nothing you do works" section? If something messes up the profiles.ini file (for example you making a trivial mistake when editing it) you need to delete that file.

But I retry "Modify profiles.ini to point to the new location"
And it is working now. I'm just mistaken the step "e.g., Path=C:\Profiles\newprofile."
It should be the full path like this D:\New Location\xxxxxxxx.default
Before I just type D:\New Location
--------------
If someday my SSD is dead. So I just install Thunderbird on the new SSD. And change profiles.ini to point to new location right ?
What about registry.dat and Crash Reports folder ? I don't have to back them up right ?
Thank You
