mail.ui.display.dateformat.today isn't listed by default in the config editor (at least on my PC, using TB 52.8.0) at tools -> options -> advanced -> general. I suspect you have to add it (as an integer), in order to change its value. Otherwise I suspect Thunderbird silently uses the default setting in the omni.ja file. This type of problem occurs with dozens of settings. The config editor works just like about:config does in Firefox, its just launched differently.

Mozilla is 7 letters, even when they spell it as Moz://a in images. I don't understand the reference to it being miscounted as six characters. By whom/where?

Thanks, will try and have a look at the info you provided. When i tried to register it asked me how many letters are in Mozilla.
