Has this problem been resolved ? I see there is now an update listed as 52.9.1 available.

I don't see any bad side effects (message body is okay etc.) when I delete a attachment with 52.9.1. However, when I send a HTML message it gets automatically converted to a plain text message. That makes me wonder what else is broken.

Well...it looks like I will wait a while longer to upgrade from 52.8.0.
Thank You for the info

Re: TBird Problem When Deleting Attachments
I'm confused.
I tested sending HTML mail in my Windows 10, TB 52.9.1 yesterday and received them in HTML.
I'll install it in my test account on Linux (again) and do some more tests.
REF: https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgr ... igWgKfgmD8Since upgrading to 52.9.0, TB is insisting on displaying in HTML mails
which presumably have been created in HTML. I prefer to view as plain
text whenever possible - how can I choose to do so?

We've had several people test (Walt was one), and none can reproducetanstaafl wrote:https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1473893

Re: TBird Problem When Deleting Attachments
I re-installed 52.8.0 in a different directory and did some re-testing using 52.8.0 and 52.9.1 with the same profile. I can't reproduce the problem (HTML message converted to plain text) anymore. Not sure why. I had no problem repeating the problem on demand yesterday.
Yesterday I hadn't relied upon how the message looked, I had viewed the raw message source and been surprised by seeing a Content-Type: header set to text/plain in both the senders and recipients copy of the message. I ruled out it being due to a "send message as plain text if possible" setting (because I had bolded some text) and verified that a HTML message with just an attachment (no text in message body) keeps the Content-Type: multipart/mixed when the attachment is deleted.
Since I can't reproduce the problem anymore I'm not going to file a bug report.

Thanks for retesting it.
