If I disable the extension
Thanks for the hint :-) : the tweaked "search as a list extension" has an incompatibility with another extension, "Contact Tabs" (original).

I've disabled it and your mods work perfect now. THANK YOU!

There is no easy fix for the Super Date Format extension since the developers removed the toLocaleFormat method.

Thanks, @morat.

I was able to hack Super Date Format to implement my preferred formatting (no configuration, just my exact preference). It's good enough for now.

I totally agree.
Most add-ons are not compatible and worse, a lot of developers don't want to re-write their add-ons.
Flashgot, DownThemAll! and other popular add-ons still don't work.
Manually sort folders doesn't work no more.
I've uninstalled many many add-ons starting with FF quantum.

Very happy that 2 of my most important add-ons are still working: Nostalgy, Search as a list.

AFAICT, I got the Search as list extension working correctly in Thunderbird 60.

Fix:
..........

Hi Morat,

I spent several hours trying to apply your tweaks to the original Search as list 3.1 add-on but failed every time.
Could you please send me a PM with a link to your tweaked version?
Thanks!

Regarding "Send and File" working with TB 60 -- I do not know how to amend the file. I would be willing to do it if I knew how....

Does anyone have a modified copy I could have? If it's so easy wish the developer would fix it!
For those who miss "Send & File" extension in TB 60.x, I'm happy to report that it works fine by simply tweaking the .xpi to allow it to install:

* install.rdf
CODE: SELECT ALL
- <em:version>0.3.1</em:version>
+ <em:version>0.3.1.1</em:version>

CODE: SELECT ALL
- <em:minVersion>3.0*</em:minVersion>
+ <em:maxVersion>60.*</em:maxVersion>
Has anyone been able to tweak "ResetRec"? https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-GB/th ... src=search
I "Edit as new" quite a bit and now have to manually remove the TO: if it's not the same receipients.

ResetRec works with a simple preference switch: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1240234

OMG thank you so much!!! It actually activated a couple add-ons. I got the reply from him that a fix would be out this week, but nothing so thought maybe it was something someone else knew a work-around.

Thank you for this discussion.

I am totally dependent on these lost addons, which worked perfectly in 52, some are not maintained so cant expect updates!:

Attachment Extractor
Change Quote and reply format
Quote and compose Manager
Tonequilla
Correct Identity
Send and file (dev has updated others but not this one)

I just can't use TB 60 without them. So now it has updated, I am going to have to spend time downloading and reinstaing v52 ](*,)

It would be great if you clever people would be kind enough to provide links to share the tweaked xpi files you have made, with people like me who are incapable of writing them :-)

Try FiltaQuilla to create filter that saves or detaches attachments.

Change Quote and reply format

Breaks reply and forward in TB 60. Try ReplyWithHeader.

Quote and compose Manager

Seems to work in TB 60 with changing preference extensions.strictCompatibility to false in Config. editor.

Tonequilla

Try Mailbox Alert or FiltaQuilla.

Correct Identity

TY :-) will try #-o
Or maybe better to resinstall v52 and wait for those addons that I know and have spent weeks/months finding and customising... IDK
I can't even remember all the bugs they addressed... I know one was borders on quoted messages... why does Mozilla do this to people? Why didn't they just help the devs to update before pushing the release onto people using the addons?

Send and file Simple tweak: viewtopic.php?p=14817422#p14817422

The .xpi file is 24,538 characters of gobbledegook,
tweaking the .xpi to allow it to install:

* install.rdf

Code: Select all
CODE: SELECT ALL
- <em:version>0.3.1</em:version>
+ <em:version>0.3.1.1</em:version>

Code: Select all
CODE: SELECT ALL
- <em:minVersion>3.0*</em:minVersion>
+ <em:maxVersion>60.*</em:maxVersion>

I am sorry, I and most other non-programmers have no idea how to do this... would it be possible to get a copy of the tweaked .xpi file for us please?

Change the xpi extension to zip, open the zip and extract install.rdf, open it in a text editor, change the em:version and em:maxVersion as indicated, save the modified rdf file, add it back to the zip, change the extension back to xpi, install the xpi to TB.

I did the tweak for "Send and File" but it doesn't work. FIrst of all, if I "skip" (don't want to save a copy) it still ends up in my SEND. Second, if I do want to save a copy, none of my folders show up in either tab, so I just have to click "OK" and it will end up in the "Send" .... Basically, it brings up a dialogue box but nothing happens no matter what you click, other than a copy ends up in the Sent file.

The Send and File tweaks fails with an IMAP account.

Send and File options:

* check "Always active"
* click "Edit favourite folders", add a folder in Local Folders account

I get the following error in the resource:///modules/gloda/log4moz.js file after sending. I don't get the error with the extension disabled.

gloda.datastore ERROR got error in _asyncTrackerListener.handleError(): 19: constraint failed
