For the past month or so I've been having a lot of Thunderbird problems. It hangs and I have to kill the process. Now I keep getting this script error. Script chrome://messenger/content/folderDisplay.js:203
I've been deleting a lot of files and moving a lot to local folders, because my mailbox is huge and I thought that might help. So far not.
I also have a lot of filters that run on incoming messages. But that doesn't explain hanging up when no mail is downloading and I'm just trying to get in a folder.
What is the best approach for trying to address this? Uninstall and reinstall?
My version is 52.9.1 (32-bit) but my machine is 64 bit.
Thanks
instability and script errors uninstall or what else?

No, usually uninstalling and reinstalling is recommended much later in the trouble shooting process. What is the best approach for trying to address this? Uninstall and reinstall?
Does the same thing occur if you launch the application in Mozilla Safe Mode? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode

Thanks, I will try that first.
After moving a lot of stuff to local folders all day it was still hanging. But then I repaired one folder that was the worst, and at the moment it is seeming very fast. I doubt that one folder was really the issue though because I seldom went into that folder.
