Help!
I've tried everything but the right thing I guess to set up an icloud email address in Thunderbird.
First it says 'username or password is incorrect. Well, no, they are correct.
Then I'm told that the incoming server already exists. OK, so what's the problem? Even deleted said info from the account setup page. When I clicked on Test Again, it just added it back then told me it already exists I am dizzy going around this computer hell circle. #-o
Just got an ipad who forced me to have an icloud account. All of those settings, username and password have been checked and rechecked. It's all correct.
Can anyone please help this geezer figure out something that should be brain dead easy? :x
...and yes, I've tried everything I could find online.
Thanks.

Well, forced is a bit strong. I'd say it allows you to have an iCloud account but you don't have to have one to use your iPad.

Setting up icloud is not as straightforward as other email accounts. They use some form of two-step verification. I remember I struggled with it, but I eventually found a page on apple help (..sorry, I can't remember where it was now..) but it ended up with apple sending an access code to my iphone which I had to input as the account password. It all works fine now.

You probably need to activate two-factor authentication for your Apple-ID https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204915
and get an app-specific password https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204397
