Picking the browser invoked by Tbird

Post by Walther von Vog »

Over at http://kb.mozillazine.org/Changing_the_ ... hunderbird Changing the web browser invoked by Thunderbird they talk about the "Open With" extension, sounds ideal for my needs. It's an on-the-fly solution invoked when wanted, instead of going into the config editor. But at the provided link it's Not Found. Anyone with a good working link or an alternative?

The version for Firefox is still available at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... open-with/ . Looking at the support site it's been completely rewritten as a WebExtension. That seems to explain why they removed the Thunderbird version, though I wish they had just updated the web page instead to state what was the last version it would work with. I'm not aware of an alternative.

See if you can get the old version at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... sion-6.8.3 to work. Supposedly it supports Thunderbird 38.0 - 54.0a1

Thanks tanstaafl, I downed the v6.8.3 and it's working great in TB 52.9.1
Now, about that free lunch, I grok it, but I'll pay for yours. =8^b
