When I drag the selected message to a folder, the next message from current folder (usually inbox) is selected and marked as read without me noticing it, because I usually need to go back to moved message. I have already missed some messages because of this, since they are marked as read.
Is there any about:config entry or something else to keep current message selected after moving it?

It's the deletion (moving a message is actually a copy and then a deletion of the original) which is causing your problem. See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Delete_a_mess ... er_message
The deselect on delete add-on at https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/th ... on-delete/ works with my copy of version 60. It seems to make Thunderbird do what you want when I move a message. I have extensions.strictCompatibility set false in order to let add-ons that don't formally support version 60 attempt to work.
Version 60 is currently available only as a download from the web site (https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/). Version 52.9.1 is the latest version available via a update, if you're confused why I tested using version 60.

I have a different solution that meets my needs. I think the problem is that Thunderbird automatically marks a message as read. I got into a lot of trouble with this standard 'feature'.
Go to Tools->Options->Display->Advanced, and under 'Reading' UNcheck 'Automatically mark messages as read'.
With that change you must manually mark messages as read. Right click either on the message subject or the message itself, and select Mark->As Read.
Now no message will ever be marked as read unless you do it.

I like the feature of auto mark as read IF I selected the message. The problem is to select another message after moving one, this doesn't seem intuitive to me.
The extension Deselect on Delete fixed it, thank you. It would be better to move the view to destination folder and keep the moved message selected. What the extension does is deselect the message, then none is selected. But OK, that's good.
