I am pretty sure I'm going to have to either do a clean install of Win10 or a Reset This PC on my laptop. Laptop crashed and I'm either going to have to do a clean install of Windows or a Reset This PC because nothing else has worked to fix my laptop crash.
Reset This PC states that it will delete all my installed apps and reset the PC to 'out of the box condition but it says it won't delete personal data. Are the Thumderbird program profile files "PERSONAL USER DATA? I don't want to lose those profiles no matter what if I can.
Thanks '

Perhaps but it would still be better to backup the profile data before doing anything about resetting the computer. Are the Thumderbird program profile files "PERSONAL USER DATA?
See this article http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_backup
The utility program referred to in that article, MozBackup, is no longer being maintained by its author but still works for some users. If you wish to use that, be sure to download the beta version from this site http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/files/1. ... ta1-EN.zip

I second Dan's advice. I suggest you try restoring a "system restore" before trying "reset this pc". It lets you revert to a previous software, registry, and driver configuration called a restore point. i.e. try using a light weight hammer before you resort to the sledge hammer.
