moving profile

Post by sailor18 »

The knowledge base article on moving profile says to use Profile Manager. I can't find such a file in windows 10. where is it?

It's part of Thunderbird. I usually just edit the existing Thunderbird shortcut properties to add -profilemanager as a command line argument to "Target:" in the shortcut tab, run the profile manager, and when I'm done undo the edit.

Thanks for your response but I can't find Profile Manager in Thunderbird. Your alternate procedure sounds like something I would quickly mess up.

You could create a console window (run cmd from the windows start menu) to get a command prompt and launch Thunderbird with a -profilemanager command line argument, specifying the full path (using double quotes due to the embedded spaces) of Thunderbird. My path is non-standard because I have both 32 and 64 bit versions installed.
