I have set the message download limit to 500Kb. When a message greater then 500kb is received the option to download the truncated message is displayed. Clicking "Download the rest of message " does not work. The whole message stays on the server and is still accessible. Has TB changed with the last update?

I'm not aware of other recent threads complaining that feature broke. Is this occurring with a IMAP account (synchronization & storage settings) or a POP account (disk space settings)?

What is the text you click on in the message body?

What version does help -> about Thunderbird state that you are using?

Have you tweaked any of the MIME parts on demand settings? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Entire_messag ... AP_message

Thanks for your interest,
1. It is a POP account.
2. The following in a box, with the "Download the rest of the message" highlighted and underscored with an attached address "mailbox://nobody@local folders/Inbox/--message ID descriptors"

Truncated!
This message exceeded the Maximum Message Size set in Account Settings, so we have only downloaded the first few lines from the mail server.

Download the rest of the message.

3. Thunderbird version 60.2.1 (32 bit)
4. I could not find the MIME demand settings probably because I'm using POP. But I found under Edit/Preferences/Display/Advanced Reading "Automatically mark message as read" is checked. Unchecked that but did not help.

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1361020 has:

"Yes, the bug is back, thanks for letting us know. The link in the message "Download the rest of the message" is subject to access control and it looks like something has changed so it can't be clicked any more. I've filed bug 1446679 for it."

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1446679 is supposedly fixed in version 61. I'd assume that fix would be in the beta (64) but not only would you take the normal risk of using a beta, but most of your add-ons might break. Its tough enough getting updates to add-ons to support 60, but the last add-on guide I'm aware of only covers version 63. Firefox 64 is currently scheduled for Dec. 11 so I assume Thunderbird 64 would be not long afterwards. I have no clue if they'd delay it until after the holidays. The last published status meeting notes were for the middle of last month.

See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Go_back_to_an ... hunderbird if this bug is annoying enough you want to go back to 52.9.1. Or find a older version from a Ubuntu repository if you're not using the Mozilla Linux build.
