After the latest update whenever I hit "Reply" it changes the order of the original email text.
For example, it will move the previous email to the bottom, but leave my reply on the top, so it's out of order chronologically.
One time it even put the text in reverse.
What is causing this?

Check to see what option you have selected under menu path Tools->Account Settings->Composition & Addressing->Automatically quote the original message->"Then"->select "Start my reply below the quote".

Yes, this has been happening to me also.
But the rearranging is not just related to the settings. When I do a forward, the previous messages are not rearranged, when I do a reply, the order of previous messages is rearranged. On the fourth column is where issues appear. Funny thing is, if I forward instead of reply, reply 2 is where it should be, just below reply 3, and above reply 1. If I reply, it is as in the image. All setting end up with the previous messages being rearraged when replying.

Does the same thing occur if you launch the application in Mozilla Safe Mode? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode

Thanks. I did that. All appears OK in safe mode and doing as it should. I will need to disable the plugins 1 by 1 to see which one causes this weird result.

It turns out to be a plugin called ReFwdFormatter.
I disabled plugin for now. It's not a dealbreaker plugin. (probably bottom of my favourites list)
The main thing I want is to remove the side bars in replys. After a dozen or so replies, there can often be no space left for text in the middle.
There is an open issue here:

For those watching this thread. After my post and others on the GIT for ReFwdFormatter, the owner finally updated the plugin.
From my test, ReFwdFormatter now does not break replies.
As of version 60.3.3 32 bit
